>Thursday we are sponsoring a Play at the Detroit Reporatory Theater entitled "Looking For The Pony" by Andrea Lepico as a fundraiser for the Lighthouse and for newly established Charity Helen's Heart Foundation which is set up to assist Cancer patients with utilities and food as they go through treatment.

June 19- 24 We are planning a 2.2 mile City Cleanup to bring awareness to the National Holiday Juneteenth and to address racism as trash that needs removing.

Dear Potential Member/Partner In March of 2001, The Lighthouse Community Center was established out of a dire need within local communities of Detroit. This community service was designed to meet the needs of our young impoverished African Americans and their families. Since that time, these services have been implemented through various programs within local neighborhoods and schools, for example, classes and workshops on moral conduct with the use of movies, role-play, visual aids, and literacy improvement. The Lighthouse Community Center is a faith based non-profit organization.
We are a tax exempt charitable organization. We rely on donations, fund raisers and membership dues to operate this service. We are in need of your financial support as well as your area of expertise and shared resources to ensure the continued existence of the service we provide. Those wishing to be a supporting member, but not wanting to be on the board may contribute any amount to be listed as a supporting member. Be sure to submit your name or the person you are making the donation on behalf of. PayPal services are offered for those wishing to donate this way or you may mail in your contribution.
The key requirements for Executive Board Members are as follows:
• Attend monthly meetings held each Sunday evening at 7pm
• Actively participate or donate to each sponsored or held event
• Pay initial fee of $100 and $20 per month thereafter
• Volunteer a minimum of 12 hours per month
• Submit a one page letter stating why you wish to improve your community
